Adventure & Activities • Bushveld • Outdoor Challenges
At Jubaweni, the experience doesn't end when you leave the sports field or finish the day's programme.
With 1,000 hectares of bushveld to explore, adventure forms part of almost every Jubaweni experience. Take on our 2 km canopy tour, head into the bush on a game drive, tackle our obstacle courses or experience Jubaweni after dark.
Canopy Tour
One of Jubaweni's signature adventure experiences — and one they won't easily forget.
Approximately 2 km of canopy tour adventure through the Jubaweni bushveld.
For our sports clinics, these activities become part of the experience too. When players aren't training or playing matches, they can get out into the bush, take on a challenge together and enjoy everything else Jubaweni has to offer.
Our canopy tour takes participants through the Jubaweni bushveld on a series of ziplines, giving them a completely different perspective of the property.
Game Drives
Jubaweni is first and foremost a game farm — and the bushveld is part of the experience.
A wide bushveld setting where visitors can leave the camps and sports fields behind and experience Jubaweni from a different perspective.
Our game drives take visitors away from the camps and sports fields and into the bushveld, where they can experience the natural surroundings of Jubaweni.
Visitors may encounter giraffe, eland, kudu, blue wildebeest, zebra, red hartebeest, waterbuck, nyala, impala, duiker and steenbok in their natural surroundings.
The wider Nylsvley area is also exceptionally rich in birdlife, with hundreds of recorded species and a dedicated guide featuring 232 of the species most likely to be encountered in the reserve.
Literia
Literia challenges participants to slow down, think clearly and work together before moving forward.
It is not only about finding the answer. It is about communication, listening, problem-solving and learning how to overcome a challenge as a group.
Learners are encouraged to pause, discuss the challenge and work out a solution together before acting.
Understand the challenge before rushing into action.
Share ideas, listen properly and decide as a group.
Put the plan into action and solve the challenge together.
Obstacle Courses
Obstacle courses are not only about getting from one end to the other — they are about how the group gets there together.
Physical outdoor challenges that demand teamwork, communication and a willingness to help one another.
Our obstacle courses challenge participants physically while demanding teamwork, communication and a willingness to help one another.
Whether they are part of a school camp, leadership programme or sports clinic, the obstacles are designed to bring the group together through practical outdoor challenges.
It is not simply about finishing the course — it is about planning, supporting each other, pushing through and getting it done as a team.
After Dark
When the sun goes down, the bushveld changes. The familiar surroundings of the day become something completely different — quieter, darker and full of excitement.
Some Jubaweni experiences only start after dark. These night activities bring a different kind of excitement to camp, where learners need to listen, move carefully, work together and experience the bushveld in a new way.
Leave the lights of camp behind and experience the bushveld on foot after sunset. The familiar surroundings of the day become a very different experience at night.
Find the light without being seen. Learners work their way through the darkness towards the lantern without being spotted — patience, stealth and plenty of excitement included.
